Loading scorekeeper…
How it works
- Add your players.
- Choose This device or Live game scoring.
- Enter each player’s score after every round and select Finish round.
- Totals and standings update automatically.
- For a live game, share the code so everyone can follow along.
A real example
Fictional game: Maya scores 20, Alex 10 and Sam −5 in round one. Maya leads in Highest score wins; Sam leads in Lowest score wins. If Alex adds 10 and Maya adds zero in round two, both have 20 and share first place in Highest mode.
A scorekeeper for your rules
Enter the change for this round, not the running total. Negative scores work for penalties; decimals work for fractional points. Changing the winning rule changes the order of standings, not the scores themselves.
Use stable player names to keep the scoreboard readable. Renaming preserves scores. A new player starts with zero in previous rounds; removing a player removes their score history after confirmation. Keep between 2 and 12 players.
Local or live?
This device is useful when one phone goes around the table. It saves the active game in that browser so refreshes preserve it. Live game lets one host keep score while other phones watch. Updates reconnect automatically after interruptions; check the small connection status before relying on a live scoreboard.
Live sessions are temporary, and their code is a viewing link rather than a password. Use nicknames instead of sensitive personal information. Host control stays with the original browser. Copy or print results if you want a record beyond the session.
Frequently asked questions
Does this work for any game?
Use it for board, card, party, family or classroom games that accumulate numeric scores over rounds. It does not enforce a particular game’s rules. Choose highest or lowest score wins before scoring.
Can everyone see the scoreboard on their own phone?
Yes. Start a Live game and share the code or invite link. Viewers immediately see the same standings and round history. They need an internet connection, but no name, account or permission request.
Can guests change the score?
No. Only the host browser can change a live game. The server checks a separate host credential for every change. The public game code and invite link only allow viewing.
Do guests need an account?
No. Neither hosts nor guests need an account. Host control belongs to the browser that created the live game.
Can the lowest score win?
Yes. Choose Lowest score wins. You can also change this in Players & settings; totals stay the same and standings are recalculated.
Can I enter negative scores or decimals?
Yes. Enter positive, negative or zero scores, with up to six decimal places and a limit of 1,000,000 in either direction per player per round. Quick buttons add or subtract from this round, not the overall total.
What happens if players tie?
Equal totals share a rank. Competition ranking skips the following places: 1, 2, 2, 4. All players tied in first place are winners when you finish; no tied player is chosen arbitrarily.
Can I correct a mistake?
Open Round history to edit or delete a round. Totals recalculate automatically. Undo restores the previous change, including player and setting changes, for up to 20 actions. You can correct previous rounds after finishing.
How long does a live game remain available?
It expires 24 hours after creation or the last successful host change. Viewing, refreshing and leaving a guest tab open do not extend it. Cloudflare deletes the temporary session automatically. A game supports up to 500 rounds and 100 simultaneous connections.
What happens if the host closes the page?
The scoreboard remains available until expiry. Returning in the same browser restores host control from local storage. Clearing that storage or losing the device may permanently lose control. There is no account recovery or host transfer.
Is my game data uploaded?
This device games remain in your browser’s local storage. Live games send player names, round scores and settings to RST’s Cloudflare infrastructure for temporary storage and sharing. Anyone with the code/link can view them, so avoid sensitive personal information. Game data and host credentials are not automatically attached to feedback.
What does reset or new game do?
Reset scores erases rounds but keeps players and scoring mode. New game returns to setup. In Live mode it finishes the old game for viewers before leaving; the old final scoreboard remains viewable until expiry. Copy or print results before clearing a local game.
