Privacy, kept simple.

Really Simple Tools is built to help people get small tasks done without collecting more information than necessary. This policy describes how the site works today.

Files and local processing

The current file-processing tools read and process files directly in your browser. Selecting a file does not upload its contents to us or an external processing service. Tool inputs are held in the current page’s memory.

Local processing is practical for many kinds of tools, but it is not a promise that every future tool will work this way. Check each tool’s processing information; any different handling should be explained on that tool’s page.

Information we collect

The application has no accounts or advertising. Tool search runs in your browser; the application does not send your search text to a server.

Visiting the site still makes network requests. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, receives connection information such as your IP address, requested URLs, and browser request headers to deliver the site.

Feedback and tool requests

When you send a suggestion or tool request, we store your message, optional email address, page URL, submission time, and tool details (for tool suggestions) in Cloudflare Workers KV for up to one year. We use these submissions to decide what to improve or build, and may reply if you provide an email. Email is optional.

Feedback does not automatically include tool files, inputs, or generated output. Please do not put sensitive information in your message. Cloudflare uses your connection IP address for short-term submission rate limiting; the feedback record does not include it.

Cookies and browser storage

The application does not set cookies or save tool inputs in localStorage or sessionStorage. Your browser may cache site files so pages load faster. Clearing a tool or closing its tab discards its current inputs; cached site files are separate from those inputs.

Third-party services

Cloudflare hosts the site through Workers and static assets. The application does not call external APIs to process your files.

Cloudflare also adds a performance-measurement script to the live site. It sends page URLs, page-load identifiers, timing measurements, and browser performance information to Cloudflare through /cdn-cgi/rum. These reports measure how the site loads; the current file-processing tools do not upload file contents through this service.

Cloudflare’s response headers enable network-error reporting. Supporting browsers may send connection-failure reports to Cloudflare, including the affected URL and network diagnostics. See Cloudflare’s network-error reporting information for details.

If you follow an external link, the destination site handles your visit under its own privacy practices.

Your files

The application does not keep a server-side copy of files processed locally. Your original files remain on your device. Downloads, saved output, and printed files remain wherever you choose to save or send them; your browser, operating system, or print destination handles that output.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when the site’s data handling changes. The date above identifies the latest policy update.
